February 14, 2018 is the beginning of the Lenten Season for Christians.
Today is Ash Wednesday, it is the first day of Lent. “Remember that you are dust and unto dust you shall return.”
Lent is the 46 days of reflection before Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Catholic adults are mandated to fast and abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday by consuming only one main meal with two smaller snacks if necessary at other meals times, which must not exceed the size of the main meal.
- Praying …
- Fasting …
- Abstaining …
- Almsgiving …
- Seeking penance …
This is the perfect time to give 100% of our attention in glorifying our God. Experience the goodness of the Lord every day of our lives. Share your blessings and be thankful. And you will find the Lord’s love and blessings being showered upon you.
We can mark Lent by taking part and commit to doing one positive act on each day of Lent.
May God bless you as we journey together with Christ and one another into the deeper life of God.
Have a holy and blessed Lent!
“Because of the increase of iniquity, the love of many will grow cold.” – Mt 24: 12
