The Catholic Church celebrates All Soul’s Day on November 2. All Souls’ Day is the commemoration of the souls of all our faithful departed brothers and sisters in Christ.

Christians all over the world lit candles to remember and pray for deceased family, friends, relatives, loved ones and others in Purgatory. We remember those who have died. We pray for them. We offer up Masses in their name.

Praying for the souls in Purgatory.

Start your day with morning prayer to pray for souls in Purgatory, especially those of loved ones.

Lighting candles for deceased loved ones.

You can either light candles at home or at church or at cemetery. Light a little candle and offer a prayer for those special people who have passed away.

Placing flowers on graves of deceased loved ones.

You might want to offer a beautiful bouquet of flowers on your trip to the cemetery.

“Lord, I pray for those souls going through their final purification in Purgatory. Please pour forth Your mercy upon them so that they may be freed of all attachment to sin and, thus, be prepared to see You face to face. Jesus, I trust in You.”
