International Women’s Day (IWD) has been in existence for over a century. As a matter of fact, we are celebrating 115 years of International Women’s Day since 1911.
On March 8, let us celebrate the social, economic, cultural, political achievements and significant contributions of women around the world.
The United Nations IWD 2026 theme: “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”, calls for action to dismantle all barriers to equal justice: discriminatory laws, weak legal protections, and harmful practices and social norms that erode the rights of women and girls.
Did you know that women have only 64% of the legal rights that men hold worldwide?
No nation has closed the gaps between men and women. It will take 286 years to close legal protection gaps if progress continues at its current pace. In many countries, the law allows for early and child marriage, which erodes the full potential of about 12 million girls annually. The law systematically disadvantages women in fundamental areas of life, including work, money, safety, family, property, mobility, business and retirement.
International Women’s Day.com IWD 2026 Campaign Theme is ‘Give To Gain’. The Campaign encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration. Give To Gain emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. When we give, we give from the heart. Giving requires open hearts and minds.

Happy International Women’s Day 2026!
“As women achieve power, the barriers will fall. As society sees what women can do, as women see what women can do, there will be more women out there doing things, and we’ll all be better off for it.” — Ruth Bader Ginsburg (American Lawyer and Jurist)
