Earth Day is a global event celebrated on April 22 by more than 1 billion people in 192 countries every year. This year, April 22nd, 2025 marks the 55th anniversary of Earth Day celebration.
Earth Day’s 2025 theme is OUR POWER, OUR PLANET, calls for everyone to unite around renewable energy so we can triple clean electricity by 2030, be it solar, wind, hydro-electric, tidal or geothermal.
According to United Nations, renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, emit little to no greenhouse gases, are readily available and in most cases cheaper than coal, oil or gas. To achieve this, we need to end our reliance on fossil fuels and invest in alternative sources of energy that are clean, accessible, affordable, sustainable, and reliable.
