Valentine’s Day is also known as Saint Valentine’s Day. The Feast of Saint Valentine is widely celebrated on February 14. The Catholic Encyclopedia mentioned at least three different Saint Valentines, all of them martyrs in connection with February 14. The first St. Valentine was a Roman priest and physician in Rome. The second St. Valentine was the Bishop of Interamna (now Terni, located about 60 miles from Rome). The third St. Valentine suffered martyrdom in Africa with several companions.

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” – 1 John 4:7-8
